“To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of particular States, and the Acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings;—And” Article 1 Section 8 Clause 17 of the Constitution of the United States
There has been a lot of news lately coming out of Oregon about the Malheur Wildlife Refuge and how the US Government has over stepped their boundaries in regards to whether or not they legally own the land. The protesters that are there challenging the idea that the federal government can own that land are reciting this above mentioned section of the US Constitution and stating that the federal government can not owned it as it is unconstitutional. We have all seen over the years the “land grabs” that are being done in the name of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). We saw it with Cliven Bundy in Arizona, the Dann sisters who were charged with “trespassing on public property” when it was taken it from them, the Hammonds which is going on right now and they are serving their second term in prison after the feds forced them back to prison in what some are calling “double jeopardy”, the mines in states like Wyoming, Montana, Missouri, Oregon, and so many more that most people never hear about.
KrisAnn Hall was in Burns, Oregon on Monday, Jan. 18th, and she explains exactly what the Constitution says about the federal government owning land. “KrisAnne Hall is an attorney and former prosecutor, fired after teaching the Constitution to TEA Party groups – she would not sacrifice liberty for a paycheck. She is a disabled veteran of the US Army, a Russian linguist, a mother, a pastor’s wife and a patriot. She now travels the country and teaches the Constitution and the history that gave us our founding documents. KrisAnne Hall does not just teach the Constitution, she lays the foundations that show how reliable and relevant our founding documents are today. She presents the “genealogy” of the Constitution – the 700 year history and five foundational documents that are the very roots of American Liberty. – “I highly suggest you check out the show by clicking on the link with her name or click here.
Another very interesting article that was written about this situation with Mr. Hammond, his family, and how they were treated by the BLM, US Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, and the county officials who were suppose to be looking out for all the residents of Harney County can be found at the Conservative Treehouse page.
The Conservative Treehouse author makes some very interesting observations on the situation. This will not be the end by any means. The country will see a lot more over stepping of authority, more people will be ran off their lands, and a lot more information will be coming out. So stay tuned as we surf the information to get to the truth.
